Extended Commercial Font License

Understanding the Extended Commercial Font License for Your Creative Projects

If your project is growing, your license should grow too. This Extended Commercial License is perfect for brands producing larger-scale work, using the font as part of their logo/trademark, or releasing a higher volume of printed or digital end products.

This license is designed for one brand and offers more flexibility while still respecting the work that goes into crafting a font.

What Is the Extended Commercial License?

An Extended Commercial License grants you the right to install and use a Yenty Jap font on one (1) computer for one (1) brand (legal entity), just like the standard Desktop License—but with greater output limits and logo usage included.

It is a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for brands that need extra room to grow.

Permitted Uses (Up to 50000 End Products + Logo Rights, One Brand)

By purchasing this Extended Commercial License, you may:

1) Install on One (1) Computer

  • Use the font on a single workstation or device controlled by the licensee.
  • This license applies to one brand or legal entity.

2) Create Up to 50000 Total End Products

  • This includes both physical and digital products for sale or distribution.
  • Examples of end products:
  • Printed Items: Posters, flyers, product packaging, apparel, signage, merchandise.
  • Digital Assets: E-books, digital PDFs, templates, social media posts, ads, and downloadable products.

3) Use the Font in a Logo or Trademark

  • You may convert the font into a logo or use it as part of a logo or wordmark for the licensed brand.
  • This includes registration and trademarking of the design, as long as the font is not redistributed.

4) Unlimited Use for Marketing and Social Media Collateral

  • You can use the font across all of your brand’s marketing efforts:
  • Social media graphics
  • Digital ads
  • Website visuals (as images)
  • Print advertising

Restrictions to Keep in Mind

Even with expanded permissions, there are still important limits:

1) No Embedding (Web, App, Server)

  • No Website Embedding: You cannot use @font-face to serve the font on a live website. This requires a separate Webfont License.
  • No App/Game Embedding: Embedding the font in an app or software requires an App License.
  • No Server-Side Rendering (SaaS): Dynamic generation of PDFs, images, or designs on behalf of users requires a Server License.
  • No Video/TV/Broadcast/Streaming: If you want to use the font in motion graphics, shows, or video productions, you’ll need a Broadcast License.

2) No Editable File Templates for Sale

  • You may not include the font in editable templates (e.g., Canva, Corjl, InDesign, Figma files) meant for resale—even if the files are flattened or embedded.

3) No Font Modifications

  • You may not modify the font files, rename it, reverse engineer, or create derivative fonts.

4) Single Brand Use Only

  • This license is valid for one (1) brand. If you operate multiple businesses, each brand needs its own license.

Ideal For:

  • Designers or studios working on behalf of one brand with a larger reach
  • Brands planning to use the font in logos, trademarks, and visual identity
  • Businesses expecting to print or distribute up to 50000 total end products
  • Growing e-commerce shops, boutique product lines, or established content creators

Need More Than 50000 End Products or Want to Embed the Font?

If you're planning to do any of the following:

  • Embed the font in an app, game, or software
  • Use the font on a website as a webfont
  • Generate designs dynamically via SaaS platforms
  • Use the font in a film, TV show, video content, or YouTube series
  • You’ll need to purchase a separate license type (App, Webfont, Server, or Broadcast).

Or, if you need everything bundled under one roof (all usage types, unlimited installs, etc.), contact me to discuss a Corporate/Enterprise License.

  • Continued use beyond the agreed limits without appropriate licensing may result in legal action.
